Captain Miles started as a commercial fisherman at the age of 10 when he had a wooden dory and 10 wooden lobster traps. By the time he was 21 he had worked in a variety of fisheries all over New England as a deckhand, engineer, mate and Captain. At the age of 22 he purchased his first commercial fishing boat. He retired from the commercial fishing business and changed careers at the age of 32 when the economics of it just didn't make sense anymore. At that time he owned a 90 ft trawler and a 45 ft purse seiner working out of Gloucester. He has always had a personal vessel for recreational use and has just recently agreed to start taking small private charters to some of his favorite fishing spots

Captain Miles is licensed by the United States Coast Guard (# 1055312) to operate any vessel up to 100 Gross Tons anywhere in the United States or Canada. Of course, our charter vessels are much smaller than that. Captain Miles also holds a degree in Marine Technology from the University of Rhode Island and is also a Certified Emergency Medical Technician as well as a Certified Rescue Diver.

As you might expect from someone with the above credentials, Captain Miles keeps our vessels in tip-top shape. This includes having all of the most up to date USCG safety equipment. We also use state of the art fish finding and navigation equipment to find the fish and stay on top of them.
